Moore
David Moore is a seasoned investor and fixed income professional, having specialised in
debt markets and operated on both the buy and sell side.
In 1995 David commenced his career with Westpac Financial Markets, providing foreign
exchange and money market services to corporate clients. He moved from Sydney to
Brisbane in 1998 to spearhead Westpac’s fixed income business in Queensland.
In 2001 David became Flight Centre Limited’s inaugural Global Treasurer. In this role he was
responsible for Flight Centre’s $400m fixed income investment portfolio, global cash
management, banking relationships, foreign exchange, and financial risk management. He
implemented the Group’s treasury policies, procedures and systems and led project teams
to deliver efficiency gains and cost savings.
In 2005 David joined FIIG Securities where he was National Head of Fixed Income Sales and
part of the Executive Leadership Team. During this period FIIG emerged as Australia’s largest
fixed income broker, making corporate bonds accessible to all Australian investors, and
introducing a high yield market to the country.
In 2016 David joined BGC Partners, the world’s largest broker, as a founding member and
leader of the Fixed Income Solutions business. The business quickly became a competitive
force by providing relative value focused research and advice to wholesale investors.
In 2021 David re-joined the buy side, managing a substantial bond portfolio for an aged care
provider. David continues in this role now but as Principal of Thesan Asset Management.
Thesan helps companies, family offices, not-for-profits and aged care providers maximise
returns on cash, leveraging Thesan’s expertise and relationships in fixed income markets.
Thesan’s capabilities also extend to Australian and US listed equities.
David has a Bachelor of Economics (Macquarie), Master of Applied Finance (Macquarie), and
is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
